Percent solutions define the concentration of a solute in terms of a hundred total parts. They are used extensively in cooking, medicine, and industrial chemistry due to their intuitive nature. Depending on the physical states of the ingredients, scientists use Mass/Mass (m/m), Volume/Volume (v/v), or Mass/Volume (m/v) percentages.
