A crate should be a safe haven, not a cage. Your dog must be able to stand up without hitting their head, turn around comfortably, and lie down with paws fully stretched out. For home use, a bit of extra space is fine, but for travel, the fit must be more precise to prevent injury during turbulence or movement.
