About this calculator
Overview
Deciles divide an ordered dataset into ten equal parts. They are used to characterize the location of data points within a distribution, similar to percentiles but in increments of 10%.
💡
Pro Tips
Deciles are simply percentiles at the 10th, 20th, ..., 90th marks.
Linear interpolation is used to find values when the rank falls between two points.
D1 is the 10th percentile, while D9 is the 90th percentile.

Fun Facts
"In economic studies, deciles are the primary way to measure income distribution."
"The 5th decile (D5) is exactly the same as the median of the dataset."
"The top decile (above D9) represents the highest 10% of values in the population."
