Overview
While mass is the amount of matter in an object, weight is the force exerted on that mass by gravity. By knowing the density and volume, we first find the mass (m = ρV) and then the weight (W = mg).

Pro Tips
Standard Earth gravity is 9.80665 m/s².
Mass remains the same anywhere in the universe, but weight depends on local gravity.
Density is usually given for a specific temperature and pressure.

Fun Facts
"If you were on the Moon, your density and volume would be the same, but your weight would be about 1/6th of your Earth weight."
"Water is unusual because its solid for (ice) is less dense than its liquid form, which is why ice floats."
