Overview
An LC filter uses an inductor and a capacitor to create a resonant circuit. At the resonant frequency, the inductive and capacitive reactances cancel each other out. This property is used in radio tuning and power supply filtering.

Pro Tips
The resonant frequency is where L and C 'vibrate' together.
f_c = 1 / (2 * π * √(L * C)).
Increasing either L or C will decrease the resonant frequency.

Fun Facts
"Wait, did you know that every radio you've ever used has an LC circuit inside it? It's how you 'tune' to a specific station!"
"LC circuits can store energy, oscillating back and forth between the magnetic field of the inductor and the electric field of the capacitor—like a physical pendulum."
"Ideally, an LC circuit would oscillate forever, but resistance causes the energy to gradually turn into heat (this is why we usually call them RLC circuits in the real world)."
